In 2016, Alice, the founder and CEO of HUJ, started eating plant based. She found that the vegan spreads on the market were quite dull and that there weren’t a lot of options for people who wanted to eat plant based. She took the matter into her own hands and created her own spreads – with the mission to become the spreads of tomorrow.
Present day our product range consists of plant-based cream cheese, Creamy Cashew, and our vegan pâté, Vegetarisk Pastej. All our products are based on Swedish white beans. We aim to create plant-based products that are still nutritious and full of great energy. You can always find our products in the vegetarian fridge at the supermarket and they are also freezable, to save for later.
In the future, we want to produce even more plant based and nutritious products to make life easier for anyone who wants to eat more plant based in their everyday lives. Our vision is to become a classic for future generations. We believe that the modern consumer stives to eat more sustainable alternatives that are still tasty and nutritious for the whole family.
Even though our products originally have been used as sandwich spreads, we believe that you can get creative with them. We try to show the consumer how to use our plant based products in various recipes such as creamy pastas, cheesecakes, and veggie burgers.
Our products are a perfect replacement for dairy based cream cheese and meat-based pâté. Creamy Cashew and Vegetarisk Pastej are suited for the consumer who eats plant based all the time or for anyone who wants to switch their dairy and meat for some plants occasionally.
