The first annual 2021 U.S.-Nordic Food Summit took place November 15 & 16, successfully bringing together 150+ unique participants, including 50+ speakers, 20+ partners and 21 innovative startups.
The virtual summit featured 14 Swedish food and ag-tech startups, ranging from a potato milk product to bio-based edible vegan product packaging to a marketplace for surplus food.
“Great fellow startups, inspirational talks, and a lot of insights on how to take on the US market” said Erik MÃ¥nsson, the CEO of Innoscentia. “Thanks for a great event!”
The summit also featured speakers and panelists from Oatly, Good Idea Drinks, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Nordic Food Tech VC, Brum Funding, among others, who discussed the latest trends in food and ag-tech, how to create a sustainable and nutrition food system for all, as well as scaling in the U.S.
“Thank you for creating this network to share innovations and business assistance between the Nordics and the US,” a participating startup said anonymously via a survey. “It is imperative to have well connected ecosystems like this to support the climate-smart food products and services that are being developed in the Nordic region.”
Try Swedish and Business Sweden, together with our many partners, look forward to continuing the momentum of connecting the Nordic food and agriculture innovators with the U.S. food-and ag-tech ecosystem to promote inspiration, energy and mobilization around the goal of collectively creating a more sustainable food system globally.
Stay tuned for the second annual U.S.-Nordic Food Summit in November 2022!
